Voting on Marijuana in the United States
Alaska, Oregon, Florida and even good old Washington DC voted on marijuana laws in their state or district. So let’s get to it. Alaska, Oregon and Washington DC passed while Florida will continue to wait for another election.
Alaska passed with a 52% in favor of passing recreational marijuana in the state. This won’t be legal until 90 day so everyone in Alaska is waiting for February to come around. Those that are 21 and older are able to possess marijuana without having to worry about the cops. Fuck the Police as NWA says!!
Oregon also passed and those 21 and older will be able to possess and also sell recreational marijuana. You’ll be able to possess up to 8 ounces of pot at your house and up to 1 ounce in public. Oregon will have to wait for this to take affect around July 2015. This will be a Happy 4th of July for Alaska next year!!
Washington DC, they also passed for recreational marijuana but since Washington DC isn’t a state, politicians may veto the vote. Damn Politician Bastards!!!
Florida, well, they didn’t make the mark since they needed 60% to pass because of an amendment of the constitution or something like that? They reached 58% and fell 2% points below the mark. They will have to wait till 2016 to be able to vote again and hopefully they will become the first state in the south to become legal in some shape or form.
All in all, I think this was a good election since a couple states did pass and that’s 2 less states to push to become legal. We all thank those that supported the vote and for those that didn’t, Fuck YA!
