Durban Poison is a sativa marijuana strain that has an interesting history. One of America's first international strain hunters, Ed Rosenthal, was in South Africa in the late 1970s looking for some new strains. At the port of Durban Africa, he ran across a fast flowering strain. He brought some seeds back and shared them with others. One of those that he shared these seeds with was Mel Frank who wrote the book Marijuana Growers Guide Deluxe; in 1978. Frank was able to take these seeds and cross breed them to create today's: Durban Poison.
